Goulburn fishing Festival 2013
« on: September 04, 2013, 09:38:14 AM »
Fisheries Victoria and the Eildon community will again host the Goulburn Fishing Festival on 6 and 7 September, coinciding with the opening of the riverine trout season.

Bring the family and make a long weekend of it.

There will be fishing workshops and accommodation prizes along with professional cooking demonstrations.

For the kids, free entertainment all weekend including a jumping castle, face painting and lots of fishy activities.

The festival also aims to highlight the terrific trout fishing on offer in Eildon’s rivers, pondage and giant lake.

Alternatively, learn more about Lake Eildon’s increasingly popular native fishery, which is based on stocked golden perch and Murray cod.

Trout and Murray cod are grown at our Snob’s Creek hatchery, which will be open for free tours on Saturday.

Friday
The festival commences on Friday evening with a free fishing expo at the Eildon Community Centre.

It will include fishing tackle and equipment displays, local produce, fly tying demonstrations and several guests who will share their local fishing expertise.

Saturday

A hands-on day with a strong fish focus: trout stocking and fishing in the Eildon Pondage plus fun activities for the children.

Free guided tours of our Snobs Creek fish hatchery, one of Australia’s largest fish production facilities that grows brown trout, rainbow trout, Chinook salmon, Murray cod, Macquarie perch and trout cod.
