Title: Petrol motors at MCdonald.
Post by: rayke1938 on October 21, 2014, 08:05:19 AM
Prior to the recreational use review of Lake Mcdonald it was permitted to launch a boat with a petrol powered motor provided that the motor was not started.
The review made no mention of this so I wrote to SEQ water for a ruling.
Here is part of their response.
" Regarding petrol-powered motors on Lake Macdonald – the inconsistencies and variety of local rules at different lakes is one of the things that we get the most complaints about, because they make it confusing for the people like yourself who just want to do the right thing. Our rangers will allow some latitude when on patrol, but we would prefer that people did not take petrol-powered boats onto the lakes that are electric-only, as it can confuse things for other visitors."
Cheers

In other words, you can leave it on there because they didn't want to be seen to be taking something away during the pointless public consultation process.
