Dam release update
Water Supply Minister Mark McArdle said minor releases from Leslie Harrison Dam would continue throughout the day as a result of recent rainfall.
“The releases began at 10am this morning and are expected to finish at 7pm tonight, with no downstream impacts anticipated,” Mr McArdle said.
“While there was significant rainfall over the weekend and further rainfall predicted for the rest of this week, there are currently no gate releases occurring or planned for Wivenhoe, Somerset, and North Pine dams.”
Mr McArdle said the flood compartments for Wivenhoe and Somerset dams remained empty and available if required.
“Based on the latest Bureau of Meteorology forecasts and Seqwater’s constant monitoring of dam levels, a number of Seqwater's lakes have also been closed as a precautionary measure and in the interest of public health and safety,” he said.
Mr McArdle said that due to rainfall in the catchment, the following un-gated dams were currently spilling:
1. Atkinson Dam
2. Baroon Pocket Dam
3. Borumba Dam
4. Cedar Pocket Dam
5. Enoggera Dam
6. Ewen Maddock Dam
7. Gold Creek Dam
8. Hinze Dam
9. Lake Macdonald Dam
10. Lake Manchester Dam
11. Little Nerang Dam
12. Maroon Dam
13. Nindooinbah Dam
14. Wappa Dam
15. Wyaralong Dam.
