Title: Lake Borumba open to fishing & kayaking over Easter
Post by: Editor on April 17, 2014, 12:23:24 PM
Lake Borumba remains closed to swimming and water skiing but open to other on-water recreation
Date:  17/04/2014 - Seqwater

As a precautionary measure and in the interest of public safety, Lake Borumba remains temporarily closed to all in-water recreation activities (swimming and water-skiing) however the lake is again open to all on-water activities such as paddle craft and fishing.

The most recent water quality test results indicate that the lake remains unsuitable for any activity involving primary contact with the water. Please note there are no increased risks to users of the land-based recreational areas.

Seqwater will continue to monitor water quality at Lake Borumba, and the lake will be reopened to primary water based activities when appropriate to do so.

For further information please read the Seqwater blue-green algae fact sheet (http://www.previous.seqwater.com.au/sites/default/files/PDF%20Documents/Recreation/Blue-green%20algae%20fact%20sheet%20Oct2011.pdf).

In a nutshell, fishing from a boat or kayak/canoe is ok but no water skiers. Happy days for fishos!!!
