Fish Changing Color

I know the topic of rust water fish species is out of place here but I noticed a strange phenomena today with a flathead completely changing colour just after I landed it, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with any freshwater species, And by saying this flattie changed like a chameleon (weird).

Flathead change colour to suit the surroundings.  They're pale on a sandy bottom and darker in a muddy environment.  I find that the work of the devil hence sticking to Sweetwater.

Thanks Dale, I've found fresh water barra in Monduran sometimes just a little cleaner and shinier than at Awoonga, especially after they had the big spill and for a while after while the water stayed a muddy coffee colour my catches there were noticeably tinged more golden than silver, Dale have you ever come across any other species with unexplained diss-colorations  ?,

Golden perch vary greatly, from a pale, almost white out west to almost black in stagnant lagoons.  Barra, obviously, I got a rally golden fish in Awoonga, off Futter Creek, and then not long afterwards a really silver fish.  Bass in Clarrie Hall are quite dark compared to Wivenhoe.
