Dale I take your point about the dressmaking tape, and I was probably getting things ass backwards. However I know that the fish I saw on the blokes mobile was a very big bass. Some of the old blokes  I know around the district talk of very big Bass (Perch) that they can recall being caught. The same goes for eastern Cod. We are getting regular reports of these fish turning up in the Richmond and Wilson systems. There's still a lot we don't know. As far as the range of the EP is concerned they do turn up in the Richmond from time to time, and they have been know to hybridise with Bass.

I don't think that there is any doubt that 60 and perhaps even 70cm bass exist. I am pretty sure I dropped a 60+ wild bass at my feet once(lucky there was no noose and branch handy at the time). When I stated that 50cm is the magic mark though I was referring to the size that Wild bassers see as the point where a Bass reaches trophy size.Much like a wild metre Barra. Of course if you are an impoundment fisho things are different and 60cmshould be the mark you aim for(relative impoundment Barra 120cm). If you  ever get a Bass that approaches those mythical sizes that are often reported but rarely verified then you are the luckiest fisho around and should truly appreciate the moment, however these specimens are not really what one will aimm for.

Elops, would be about 52 / 53.

Mate they are everywhere, not even close, so no cigar.

Next.

i think this post proves that of all the liars in the world the fishermen are the most noble  ;). I reckon that picture of a bass bent across a yak would almost certainly prove it was 65cm at least  ::)
