Title: awsome bass'n
Post by: bassfisher on October 06, 2012, 09:51:29 AM
;D , what a great morning throwing some lures around, got a heap of bass just casting off the bank, it was so much fun and there were plenty of bass more than willing to take my offerings ( they are very well presented)  they took nearly every style i tied on , got one over 50 which took me into a snag twice, but with my great angling skills i managed to land it on the bank, oh what a fight, . might head back in the afternoon i think.

Nice mate - Wish I could raise more than two at my usual haunts.  Since the season start I don't know where the bass are atm.  Have to look further afield me thinks :)

I would suggest get a Berkley 3B Fat Dog or a Jackall Chubby and maybe a spinnerbait(TT Lures have ok ones)

Then head down to one of the rivers near you.  Head to where the water is fresh and If there is some kind of obstruction (Barrage or Weir or fish ladder) try the lower side as there hasn't been much rain lately.  Start throwing the lures at structure and likely places and slow roll back to you.  Sooner or later you are gonna get smashed on any one of those lures.

Cheers

Nice session and a 50+ bass as well, can't wait to get one that big and hope my skills are good enough to land it, as it is I struggle with the smaller ones.

Cheers

Howdy BF, welcome to Oz.

Mate, we are a strange mob sometimes I suppose, but heres some advice, take it or leave it as you may:

, what a great morning throwing some lures around, got a heap of bass just casting off the bank, it was so much fun and there were plenty of bass more than willing to take my offerings this part is fine

( they are very well presented) this part borders on self congratulation

they took nearly every style i tied on , got one over 50 which took me into a snag twice, this part is awesome

but with my great angling skills i managed to land it on the bank, this part will get you bagged out quick as blink

oh what a fight, . might head back in the afternoon i think  this part is awesome

Enjoy our natives, remember to treat them with care if releasing, happy fishing

cheers
Brian

How close is near record???
Quite a few blokes on this site have caught very large black bass in PNG and you do not see them claiming them as Australian bass;
But maybe we Aussies are more modest

I must admit I did take a peek at the profile pic also and was wondering if there was a Unicorn pic to accompany the stat.  It is a good LMB anyway.  Not sure why all the angst though.  Ray is a good bloke and can't see him being nasty or anything.

Depends on the mood, what else is going on, the weather.

If you "could" go without stopping between coats of paint etc...hmmmmm maybe an hour each.

But Dave, little piece of freedom for 5 minutes here, 20 minutes there, sneak in a bit here and there,

Tadah....a dozen lures.
