SE Qld Lakes - access update
« on: February 24, 2015, 08:42:05 PM »
Closures and restrictions at our lakes following severe weather event
 Date: 24/02/2015 - Seqwater

Most of our lakes and recreation areas are open following last week's severe weather event, however some activities are restricted at some lakes.

From 6:00am Tuesday 24 February 2015, the lakes listed below are open with the following restrictions:
•Lake Atkinson is open to all regular activities, except swimming (due to debris in the swimming area)
•Lake Somerset is open to boating, canoeing and kayaking, but closed to swimming and water-skiing
•Lake Wivenhoe is open to all regular activities, except swimming
•Lake Wyaralong is open to regular water-based recreation activities however the multi-use and mountain bike trails are closed
•Lake Baroon is open to all regular activities, except swimming
•Lake Kurwongbah is open to all regular activities, except water-skiing

At lakes that received significant inflows, we are restricting activities that involve primary contact with the water, such as swimming and water skiing, while we conduct water quality testing.

Due to access issues and safety concerns, the following lakes will remain closed to all water-based recreation until further notice:
•Enoggera Reservoir
•Ewen Maddock Dam
•Lake Borumba
•Lake Macdonald
•Lake Manchester

We understand people are keen to get back in the water but visitor safety is our priority.

Please play it safe when visiting recreation areas as conditions may have changed.

Thank you for your patience following the severe weather event.
