Title: Baroon Pocket today
Post by: Binder on July 08, 2011, 01:40:23 PM
Dragged my sick and sorry carcass up to Baroon for a bit of restive R&R in the sun today to get away from the sick wife and kids. Loaded boat, 15 minute of gasping rest and I headed off in time for a launch just on sunup.

Was having a nice lay down in the lovely warm sun with peace and quiet, but these bl@@dy Bass kept waking me up! Gave up about 10 o'clock and went home.

Dropped a few more of those bigger ones, penalty you pay for taking your bass gear bream fishing, hreaviest leader I had in my kit was only 6 lb.

Was totally knackered after loading the boat, little old lady at the ramp asked me if I needed help!

Yep,
Ran lures at same time, not a touch. Not surprising, looking at how fat they are. But the greedy guts cant resist the good ol live shrimp when dangled in front of them!

I wonder if you'd have as much success using worms???

I can honestly say I've never caught a bass on a worm there. Have heard people do, but I've never had any luck at Baroon. Baroon Pocket bass used to like salt water yabbies, I used to use them years ago there for bait.

Nice Bass collection mate, too bad they wouldn't let you get a bit of rest though. Maybe you should have gone Bream fishing anyway.

Dropped in again this morning to use up the last of my shrimp, being as its the end of the school holidays.

Took my sons with me, not sure if the fish have moved on, or if their carry on at the other end of the boat disturbed the fish, but it was a quiet session, just two around the 44cm mark to me (from the rods at the other end of the boat from the noise makers!)
