Title: Baroon Pocket flying visit.
Post by: Binder on February 11, 2012, 07:14:56 PM
Well according to the flood gauge, water at Baroon was low enough to launch. I have been unable to retrieve my shrimp traps since it starting raining mid January, so I was pretty keen to get them. With opening time 6am and having to be at Woodford to do some stocking at 9am, we did a lightning trip, with a handful of surface poppers for an hour session. Launched to an absolute white out, sun burned the mist off the water and it was a beautiful day. Off the water by 8am and down the back of the range to Woodford.

No bass, but plenty of aggressive spangled perch to amuse us. I was pleasantly surprised to both find all my traps, and that there were still shrimp in them all after 4 weeks.

What quantities did you release at Woodford and where did you let them go ?

Post in the stocking area with details and a few pics.

We put them in to the river near the off stream storage, (just west of Woodford) 3000 bass, 1600 Yella's.
we usually put some in the off stream storage as well,  but it was to wet to get to it this year.
