Title: Buying live yabbies for bait?
Post by: Triple on June 14, 2013, 04:44:57 PM
Anyone know where I can buy bait sized yabbies (blueclaw) between brisbane and stanthorpe? Need 100 to 200 depending on price for an upcoming trip and they are getting a bit scarce in the local dams and creek we usually get em from.
Cheers.

Most pet stores stock them as feeder crays. Also some tackle stores get weekly orders of crays.

Whatever you get, just make sure you ask what species the crays are & be sure they're not redclaw as it is illegal to use redclaw as bait outside of their natural range.

Cheers,

Shrimp are better bait anyway ;)
