Title: Clear Island waters checked by Fisheries 7/2013
Post by: Dodge on July 09, 2013, 09:03:02 PM
A mate was working near the lock at Clear Island Waters today July 2013 and was yarning to  Fisheries Officers who were on both land and water.

Checked all anglers for possession of bass and they pinged a guide with 2 anglers for being in possession.

The lock was loaded with schooled bass that were easily seen from the land and they operated the lock to leave the inner gate open at lake level

Cheers for that info Richo,

Dam I hope it was true .

I went down there on Sunday and operated the lock to let the Bass out which were locked
in there , made aware by a friend !

There were 4 anglers on lock fishing
One angler fishing from bank
Two boats fishing right next to the lock !

If they are chasing bream I reckon they need to find another hobby as there sh!t at that.

Fisheries staked out the area last year for a week and unfortunatly they had a downpour
of rain and scared the anglers off.

One of the continuous persons hammering this area lives on the water in there.

Who was the guide please  can you name them or PM me please .

Regards Tony
President of Australian Bass Assoc
Stocking group of CLI.

Tony be assured it happened, I saw some Fisheries publications handed to the bloke who told me the story.

He witnessed the events as he was working nearby and went over for a yarn to them, then called in and told me on the way home from work.

Doubt he knows the guide's name but will ask in case the boat was sign written, if learned will PM you within a couple of days.

Should have his livelyhood stripped from him. Obviously not much of a guide anyway if he has to fish those waters. >:(

This forum replaces the words "fa cebook" with the word "elsewhere" , it does it automatically.

Thanks for that, Ok I found him on Face...................Book and sent him a very polite message.
It's great to have date stamped pictures of people holding Bass caught at a Choke point in this time of the season.
He look slike a nice young kid so just a friendly reminder of the dates and rules nothing abusive at all in my message.

Regards Tony

His pics show Bass, Bream and Flathead.  He should be tied to a stake and burned.
