Title: upper brissy river
Post by: dinodadog on May 24, 2012, 07:11:48 AM
Mate Glen and I headed to the upper brissy river yesterday morning and apart from the muddy launching and the slippery grass on the hill climb out it was a terrific morning. I got over 40 fish with 37 bass, 2 yallas and 2 forkies Glen got a simular amount of bass. We were trolling and casting and never used any lures over 5 dollars. Yellas were a bit lean but most of the bass were in good nick, noticed plenty of gar in the water each time the wind dropped.

Nice report Dino. I note the average size of the fish in the pictures. Was talking to Glen at Sanctuary Cove boat show today, there's better quality fish to be had by casting the edges. Those bigger fish seem to be getting some wild fish habits and are taking up position in the better cover. The river (from my perspective) is getting back to its former self to a degree, smaller fish in the open there for the trolling, most of the bigger fish tight in cover that can only be got at with good casting.

Cheers,

fitz..
