G'day all,
I'm seeking to catch some mullet for a feed. Does anyone know or have caught freshwater mullet in creeks or streams in SE Qld or Northern NSW?
If so, could you provide me with some spots try? Thanks.
I don't have a 4WD.

Pimpama river on Kerkin rd both side of the weir

look for medium river areas , with lagoon or large bodys of water , even if its only rapids , small creek at either end , thats ok, i found it good fishing for mullet ecspecily good in an area like that if theres not much current , put all your breed burly out and fish with small longshank hooks from floats, iv e even caught a mullet on lure amongst all the feeding on surface, i think its good area to fish schools of mullet cause its isolated area (the lagoon ) cut of from one side shalow rapids , and the other side small creek, its allmost like the schools of fish are traped in areas like this ^

G'day Fluffy,
I know that spot, been there a few times, otherside of bridge is tidal saltwater, I don't have a kayak to navigate the freshwater side, it goes around the bend and no access further up.

Joey1247,
Thanks mate, sounds like a spot worth exploring. Is it easy to get to? Maybe you can send me a PM with a map or directions to get to that area.
Unfortunately I no longer have a boat or kayak.
Thanks, Bondy

G'day Joey,
I'm not too bad thanks, I seen the map you are referring to in your profile. I've read some information about the bridge but still cannot work out what would the closest street or road for me to take to get to that spot in particular.
Could you send me the road info?
Thanks, Bondy

There's a park on Gladstone Road, just north of the bridge. Go take a look & do some exploring for yourself. :tick
