Green in the brown
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:01:16 AM »
Got a 2nd hand report today of a green fish being caught in the currently muddy waters of the mid Brisbane River.

It's proven that green fish use increased river flows to migrate up & down river, however it's currenlty not the prefered time of year for breeding, they still move in search of greener pastures.

Catfishal fished Wednesday morning from Heart atttack hill, flicked blades and spinnerbaits , trolled hard bodies for hours.................not a touch and rolled a doughnut.

He did mention that there is an incredible amount of baitfish on the surface.

Cheers,
Dave.

Ps. He leaves for the army on Monday, has sold all his gear and yak.

There's a fair amount of baitfish in the rivers around Lismore. Maybe they're just not hungry? Why sell all the gear? The Army won't stop him fishing, even priests are allowed to fish...

The water in the Brisbane River is clearing up fast, it's definately clean enough now to be fishing it. Saw a couple launching a canoe at Lowood and another launch at Twin Bridges today. Don't know how they went, but they did better than I did by not being on the water. Maybe tomorrow arvo I'll get a chance to chase some bass.

I got one in the cast net at the upstream dead end of another system a couple of weeks ago, thought it was a lungfish. 80 odd cm and fat
