Toonumbah Dam
« on: July 04, 2013, 08:09:18 PM »
A mate and I fished Toonumbah Dam yesterday and managed only 2 bass. The dam was full to over 100% and very dirty. Visibility would be flat out being 40cm. The lures we got fish on were lipless crankbaits; one a Jackall and the other Spro from the US. I think it's going to be a while before this dam settles back down and fishes well. I also think the dissolved oxygen levels are way down due to a lot of dead cabomba weed that has gone to the bottom.
Cheers
JD

G'day JD

Thanks for the report.
I didn't know there was cabomba weed in Toonumbah Dam. Bloody idiots who spread that stuff need their butts seriously kicked.

What was the water temp like?

hey Fitzy,
When we first launched it was just under 16deg but by about mid arvo it had risen to 18. Not bad considering the inflow. By the way, did you get that book OK?
