That's interesting...! The swfsa have attended the Lockyer Valley stocking group meetings and know where and what is stocked in the Lockyer Creek ??
Maybe if they had they would actually know what there talking about !

Good point. In a perfect world, management plans of whole catchments/systems would be the norm and all stocking groups/stakeholders would be making decisions from a whole of catchment perspective. Somerset Wivenhoe Fish Stocking Association applied for and have approval for stocking the Lockyer, Bremer and Warrill creeks with Bass and MRC. SWFSA hasn't been hiding away its activities, local landholders honey holes will benefit from this too. As more anglers use the Lockyer, this will be good for the environment as well, from there being more sets of eyes keeping watch on illegal dumping and illegal alterations to the banks of the creek.

Where did you get the marys from? Thought Russel hasnt produced any for a couple of years. Cheers
Ray

Sorry Ray. Those fish pictured being released were bass (that was in 2012 btw). When I said Bass & MRCs I meant that is what is intended to be stocked into that location. No MRCs have been purchased by swfsa and released at that site as yet.  ;D
Going forward, swfsa have committed funds (not govt grants) to restocking fish here.

Cheers,

fitz..

Looks like both hatcheries have produced MRC fingerlings this year.
 Cheers
Ray
