If I stand 30-40ft away from a bucket , I can only get it in the bucket 7 out of 10 times , any ideas on how to improve
-
Stop bragging!! Most of us are flat out getting it in the bucket 1 out of 10!
-
Move further away from the bucket so you can improve over a greater distance. At 30' you should be landing in a coffee cup 8 out of 10 times.
-
You can see a bucket from 40 foot away? ???
I'm getting old and worn out........
-
Coffee cup, what a great idea ! Thank u
-
Well yes this might improve your casting but only to cast into a coffee but this is unrealastic, I'm not being negative at all I'm just saying to improve your cast you will have to practice casting in the environment that you fish in as there will be obstacles you have to cast over/avoid but I do often throw the od lure into a bucket when I'm not out on the water :thumbsup
-
If you need casting practise your not fishing enough.
If your not getting hung up occasionally your not catching fish

Hey bassfisher have seen some of your posts , if you are as good as you say you are why don't you start your own tv show or something ?
-
:thanks I was going to , I made a pilot and a few channels looked at it but all replies were the same " sorry but you are to good-looking for tv", apparently it would make normall man feel inadequate

I thought it was something about dome reflections causing flaring on the lens..... :thumbsup
Sorry couldn't resist ::)
But yeah, I'm hopeless at casting at a fixed target, but when on the water I "just do it", forehand backhand, either hand, I usually hit in the general vicinity of the target spot (unless I'm tired). But put the pressure on and tell me to hit a bucket and I'd be lucky to get within 10 foot!

Yeh true , I go alright on the water , do loose a few lures though , hahaha , the sponsers don't like that to much though,
-
So, who are your "sponsers"?

yep, maybe stop fishing for bites on the forum, and spend more time on the water
last time I respond to one of your posts, I believe your trolling...

Try casting a fly through three hoops 4 metres apart then land it in a coffee cup I can but hey I fly fish 'cause I'm really good at it. Cheers Pat.
-
Nice one pat , and dale , deps soft baits , and hideup , great gear haven't seen them over hear though, can get them online
-
Awesome "sponser"
-
I'm now wondering if there is a specific reason that Bassfisher, and Paul32 are posting from the same IP address?
-
Id say we have a bullshit artist on our hands,
Pat your funny as hell ;D
-
Hmm cat got your tongue?
Bye bye
-
our American friend bassfisher and his Aussie alterego Paul32 have left the building. I hope his "sponsers" don't get too upset.
-
Sooo some normality now maybe C:-)

I agree with whole bucket and cup theory. Wouldn't that throw your aim off when you actually do go fishing????
I prefer to cast atleast 5 times at a random object in the backyard. Mainly trying to land the sp within an inch of the object.
-
Casting accuracy depends on where you are fishing, and what you are fishing with. Arafura Barra lures sheer off to the right by about 8", Feral Cats go the opposite way. Sometimes you want a loopy cast with the lurecoming down softly, other times you want to smack it into the surface. Fitz is probably the best "on the water" caster I've fished with. Harro was possibly better when he was younger. Practice, practice practice it what separates good fishos from the best. Spend a week fishing rivers in PNG and you'll learn the difference between landing a lure in a bucket and landing it in a coffee cup.

i find that casting in the wild shows how good i am cause nearly every cast i can land the lure on a floating leaf, only prob is that i am not aiming at the friggen leaf and it fouls the lure :)) :))

:GoodPost) :FunnyPost) :Clap)
That cracked me up Wes.
I sure am gunna miss bassfisher. Hope he catches that bucket.

I enjoyed his bullshit thought it was quiet amusing :thanks
-
shouldn't have kicked him out. good for a giggle
-
This is really good stuff here crew; what with coffee cups and buckets, floating leaves and so forth. You always learn something new... I've substituted trees with branches just out of reach. I can hit plenty of them, no further practice required. Seriously (giggle) on the water time is the best there is.
