I don't know about the fishing, but you don't need a permit and the closed season does not apply.  Let us kow how you go.

Easty,

I've caught some good bass up there. Easy launching around Apex Park at the main road and at Lees Crossing up from Dayborough. Been meaning to do a run between the two for a look if you can handle the portages.

Cheers,

fitz..

Fitz,

I fished up there a few months ago and as long as your sweet to drag over a few shallow bits its no worries

Got a few fish but nothing to write home about.

Cheers,

Welshy.

As long as you stay in the Pine catchment closed season does not apply, and you dont need either an SIP or NPD permit (unless you get as far down as the waters SEQ control).
You have to go an awful long way downstream to need them (lake Samsonvale).

Interesting question re the SIP requirement so I sent a email to DAFF.
If the exemption for bass closed season applies to all waters upstream of a dam why not  should the SIP requirement also apply.
I asked them if there is a boundary to nominate the cut off points for the Pine,Brisbane and Stanley.
 Cheers
Ray

SEQ Water "boundary" is the downstream end of Apex Park. BAS permit and SIPS permit"all navigable waters of the North Pine River arm upstream''  No permit required Apex Park and upstream.
