Texas Cod Fishing
« on: June 11, 2012, 09:29:51 AM »
Over the last couple of days WayneD, Fishbrain, Squarebear, StevenM and I fished the Dumaresq River from kayaks . We all caught some nice Cod and Wayne also landed a couple of Yellowbelly. Largest Cod was Brad (Fishbrain) with a 69cm model. I didn't take many pictures, the others can add theirs to the thread.

We had to do plenty of this.

Brad's first Murray Cod.

The best fish of the trip.

Cheers,
Dave.

Very Nice, we were out Keetah way, and had a paddle in the Macintyre a month or so back, great country.
Were you camped at one of the reserves?

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, great bunch of friends, and the fishing wasn't bad either. Can't wait for the next trip guys. No pics from me as I have misplaced my camera.

Good trip blokes, looks like the Dumaresq has settled down well. Lots of new snags to play on too.

The weather was awesome, not even a frost overnight. The water was painfully cold though, pins and needles stuff.

Very Nice, we were out Keetah way, and had a paddle in the Macintyre a month or so back, great country.

Yeah, we were camped on a reserve. Didn't rough it though, dinner was at the pub :)

Cheers,
Dave.

Well

here is my little bit

I never took many pictures unfortunatly. I started off with good intentions as you can see.

The arrival. All keen and lets get these kayaks ready.

Drag down to the river and the boys were shooting off cast before they even got into the water. Some as you can see like Dave were still coming down the hill.

And about then there is where ny pictures became almost non existant.

Wayne started off the trip real well, getting a fish within 50 meters of the launch down stream.

A few fish came from a few spts before I dragged the camera out of my pocket to get this one of Dave that nailed his lure at his feet in a pool before we dragged into it.

Check out the snag..beautiful.

A couple of fish came from here and there for Saturday.

When we got back we loaded the kayaks back on the cars and headed into town to have a feed. Can say the Shandy C was alright. A few sherbits and it was time to head back to camp.

Swags and Tents set up and the fire started to tell some lies from the day.

We woke to a beaut day on the Sunday, with Dave and Brad ( still be called Duncan at that stage) went to town for the breaky run.

The pic below is the only one I took on Sunday.

Some cranky old half dead fella that we named "Burnie" for the weekend.

I lost a couple of good fish. One on saturday and a even better one on Sunday. The one on Sunday chushed one set of trebbles and broke one of the others. Oh well thats fishing.

Me had a great weekend with like minded fellows. A heap of laughs, good times and some ribbing.

I did get a call this morning from one of the crew to ask if I was keen for another trip out in two weeks.

Answer is yes. You other blokes coming?
