Title: new england cod fishing
Post by: reedy on August 08, 2012, 05:27:34 PM
headed to new england on friday for a couple of days kayak fishing and exploring some rivers with a couple of mates. fished a couple of different rivers over 2 and a half days. really is some awesome country down there. we fished rivers beside cow paddocks and up into some gorge country. one morning is was that bloody cold we had to keep clearing the ice out of our rod guides. just shows how keen we are. had to drag the yaks over some pretty rugged country but was all worth it. had to work for our fish but ended up landing 10 fish over the weekend. i had never caught a murray cod before so was pretty stoked to have landed 5 of them. most fish were between 55-60cm with the biggest at 63cm. all fish were released in great condition. this is my first report so hopefully i can work out how to get the photos up.
