Lake Kara stocking a success
Tasmania Inland Fisheries Service

Due to the positive response from north west anglers to the recent stocking of Lake Kara the IFS has undertaken some maintenance works to improve vehicle and pedestrian access. Plans to replace the screens on the spillway are also underway.

On Thursday 15 August pedestrian tracks around the perimeter of the lake were cleared and trimmed to improve and extend access to the lake shore.
Similar work was completed on the access road and parking areas. Replacement screens for the spillway will be fabricated ready for installation when water levels allow.
Although some fish have been lost over the spillway during recent high flows good numbers of fish remain in the lake and are being taken by anglers.
