we were down near wulkara train bridge , caught a foot long cat fish , then we had some lines out , heaps of garfish perch around the floats , every time we turned on the spot light they scater , and then i thought i seen something huge thought it was sting ray or shark , it was huge right near the bank just moving slowley must hav been feeding on all the smaller fish . had another hit on lure agian in the creek at end of lagoon , so close , see how we go tommrow ,

the reason why we thought it was sting ray or shark cause its mouth was wide and we could just see the front half of its body , seen it was white underneath , never seen a cat fish that big before in real,

Bull sharks occasionally get that far, could have been one. Have seen fork-tailed catifish in the Bremer to 1.3m, yes 1300mm long.

seen a couple of kayak fishermen , at wulkarka lagoon 2 , had a big hit on floating lure just as they were coming through from river into lagoon , i can see the advantages of having kayak over just inflatable boat ,they can go through the areas were logs and sticks obsure the river , cant wait to get one myself , its good to be able fish from boat kayak much better chance cause u can go to were the action is.
