Recreation facilities - closures and safety UPDATE (Monday, 4 February)
Water-based recreation activities
As a result of the significant rain event in late January 2013, all Seqwater lakes were CLOSED to water-based recreation activities in the interests of public health and safety.
To date, the following lakes have been re-opened:
Lake Maroon – re-opened to all permitted water-based recreation activities
Lake Macdonald – re-opened to all permitted water-based recreation activities
Ewen Maddock Dam – re-opened to all permitted water-based recreation activities
Baroon Pocket Dam – re-opened to boating, kayaking and canoeing, swimming area remains closed
Lake Kurwongbah – re-opened to rowing, lake remains closed to water-skiing
The lock at NPD has also been changed to prevent access.
