2013 Federal Election
« on: August 20, 2013, 06:38:59 AM »
While I don't normally like to discuss politics on a fishing site, you would have to be living in a cave to not know about the 2013 Federal Election being held in September.
Fishing World have put in the hard yards and contacted the political parties and put a series of questions to them.  The results are published at the link below.  It is interesting to note that the Greens chose not to take part.  The individual questions and answers are at the bottom of the page.
One thing I will mention is that we should remember that there is a lot more to running a country than just dealing with issues involving recreational angling.

You have to hand it to Jim Harnwell. He's probably the only magazine editor who goes after the political side of things. In my opinion we should have become political some time back, but fisho's do tend to stick their heads collectively in the sand. I've actually tried to bring this up on various websites only to be met by thunderous silence. I will not join any fishing club until they all become affiliated with a National body. The 4wd lobby became powerful by forming the various clubs into first a State Association and then a National one. Governments only want to deal with one peak body not a whole mob of them.
