Title: Border river quickie
Post by: Sweetwater on January 13, 2013, 01:43:48 AM
Took a dash with Aussie basser to hit the Dumaresq River. Leaving very early we arrived after sunrise to find the river up a couple of feet, running fast, clear & VERY cold. The cold water contrasted the hot humid air. Looking at a couple of feeder creeks / rivers on the way which were only trickling, I'm assuming there is a water release happening from upstream at Glenlyon Dam.

Anyhow, for a quick morning session before running back to Brisbane we scored a couple of cod each, biggest was 65 - 70cm approx. Didn't measure any of them. Spent more time driving than fishing but definately worth the lack of overnight sleep.

Pretty water, good company, thanks for coming for the drive 'Basser.

Thanks for the company.  Was good fun.  I'm surprised that you caught any because I've seen you on iFish three times now and you still haven't caught a fish!  I've got some pics here, if I can photoshop your head out of them I'll post them up.

Crazy. Too hot for me to be out.
Interesting that it was clear, it was still very muddy round here (Cunninghams weir) yesterday.

You have got to be in the know.  Phone Deb and she will let some water go and throw in a couple of her pets.

Awesome fish!

Dale did you put those pics up to tease me about the Pack Angler???  Great to see it on the water with Fitz in control.
