Title: Any land based fishing options at Lake Maroon or Moogerah?
Post by: Craidon69 on June 30, 2013, 10:35:04 PM
Hi Guys,

Just wondering if there is any land based options at Maroon or Moogerah for flicking lures? Any accessible edges of the dams where it would be worth giving it a go? As the father in law is getting his boat modified during the closed season and while its cool, but I would like to try and continue fishing.

Cheers
Craig

Throw Small spinners like Celters around the edges at Maroon for allot of spangled perch action even the odd bass between the wall and the boat ramp.

Moogerah is a bit of a hard place to fish from the banks but go for an explore and tell us what you find.

The western caravan park / flats may be worth a look ...

You can go peg some lures off the point out from the dam wall. Go into the dam wall lookout area & walk down. Can't fish between the wall and almost to the point (closed waters), but it's close enough to fish holding water. I've caught bass from the edge there so I guess anyone could.
