Warwick Region Fishing Report

LESLIE DAM: With another nice week of perfect weather conditions, Leslie Dam has continued to produce some nice fish.  Anglers had success on both lures and bait.  There were some nice Golden Perch and a few Catties landed on worms up near the Black Boys.  Spinnerbaits and Blades have been the most successful lures, landing some nice fish directly across from the concrete boat ramps.  There were also some smaller Murray Cod as well as one measuring 80cm landed up past the Black Boys while casting spinnerbaits at the structure.  Darker colours seemed to produce better numbers.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam also fished well with anglers pickling up some nice fish.  One young local angler managed to land his first Murray Cod on Sunday while fishing from his kayak.  The land based anglers are landing some nice fish on worms and saltwater yabbies.

MOOGERAH DAM: The Bass at Moogerah have fired up over the past few weeks.  Anglers are reporting on some good numbers.  Soft plastics and blades have been the most successful up in the timber as well as in the main basin.  Mask Vibes are also working well in the main basin.

RIVER AND CREEKS: The Condamine River around the Warwick area is fishing extremely well at present, with local anglers landing huge numbers of Golden Perch.  The majority of these fish are caught on lures, with spinnerbaits proving to be the most successful.  The river systems to the south and to the west of Warwick are also producing some nice fish, particularly some quality Murray Cod.  All of these fish have been extremely healthy looking fish which is a great sign for our waterways.
