Went for a fish down the Dumaresq river from Cunningham wier on the 27th.
Water levels are still up and the current is ripping, was quite hard to spend any time casting to a snag. Water is quite brown.
Caught a Yella (my first yella on lure and first from yak) and a cod. Cod was 55cm.

Nice work from muddy water. :thumb
Used to fish & hunt a bit on a property not far up from Beebo Weir for some nice cod, yellas were always scarce for me there. Seems to be some good numbers through the system since Glenlyon Dam last overflowed.
Cheers,
fitz..

Well done Craig. What happened to Yeppoon? Geez you get around a lot, very jealous of your nomadic lifestyle.

Living in Yeppoon, occasionally visiting the farm at Beebo. Hard to get time for fishing when I'm down there though.
Cheers Fitzy, would love to get permission to hunt on a few of those properties. There'd have to be some piggies.

I was yarning to Brian up at Glenlyon, he said they stocked em in the Dumaresq and tagged a heap... Fitz he was saying they suveryed and there is a cod at around every 12 metres I got one the other day on surface had a tag in him but no way of recording the info ( now alway put a pen in the kit bag), we have been getting alot of cod up there around the top of the Dumaresq of late all just legal size 60 to 70 cm but a magic spot in anyones books.

I've been at all of the surveys done to date, along with several other sweetwater members. Recon we've tagged a few hundred cod there just between the guys from here. Though the survey area is only from Bonshaw Weir upstream.
A great idea to take a pen, OR take a camera & photograph the tag (if you can zoom good enough) & photograph the length. Work for me.
It's a great little river.

I don't carry a pen so if I ever catch a tagged fish I send myself a text message on my phone.
