Quite common along the Murray with quite a few golf courses on the river.  In the 70s there were no poker machines in Victoria, but clubs over the border had them.  Buses would go from Melbourne to border towns every day, so they got plenty of money to build good clubs.  At Mulwala there is also a cormorant rookerie right beside the golf club.  Discarded eggs look just like golf balls to a hungry cod.  A mate of mine in Rutherglen filmed himself cleaning a cod with three golf balls in it.
