Carmor Plains NT
« on: April 07, 2015, 01:25:40 PM »
Pam and I just had 2 days fishing at Carmor Plains in the Northern Territory with Australia Wide Safaris.  In 4 sessions we landed close to 90 Barramundi with the biggest being 83cm (my best on fly so far.)    Travelling over the floodplains in an Airboat powered by a 500hp Big Block Chevy with no mufflers was a unique experience.  Carmor Plains is about 170k's east of Darwin.  You take the Shady Camp road but head east about for about 30k's after the Shady turnoff.  It is a privately owned station, set up for hunting Buffalo, Banteng, Pigs, Crocs, Ducks and Magpie Geese.  They also use the Airboat to access the floodplains to fish the wet season.  It was too dry to fish Carmor Creek this year, so we mainly fished Love Creek.  I'll drop some photos in when I resize them.

I fish because the little voices in my head tell me to.
