Land based Bass fishing
« on: November 11, 2012, 07:09:29 PM »
Hello,

I'm not asking for anyone's secret spots just asking for some guidance as to where I can go land based bass fishing. I have a kayak but my father doesn't and therefore he is unable to come with me so I figured I would go with him. He hasn't landed a bass since he was 16 which is the age I am what a coincidence, I wan to share with him the excitement of landing a bass. Any information would be greatly appreciated, THANKS! :youbeauty

And if you don't feel uncomfortable posting on this topic just send me a message  :thanks

Brisbane River Spots: Colleges Crossing up to No Fishing Zone under old Weir, Kholo Bridge, Hills Crossing, Shines Rd (Wivenhoe Pocket), Twin Bridges...
Bremer River: along the new boardwalk in Ipswich, Brassall Bridge, Shapcott Park, Wulkaraka, One Mile Bridge, Berry's Lagoon Weir, 5 Mile Crossing...
Bundamba Creek: park across road from Rothmans tobacco on Creek St, behind Bunnings at Booval

There's a few to start you off, no more easy give-aways. Get on google maps, use your street directory and get on your bike to go looking yourself. There's bass in every creek that feeds into the bay, you just need to go fishing to find them yourself, that's half the fun.

Look foward to your reports  :thumbsup

Got a couple of longer 8 foot rods, you know the ol bay mack spins.

If yes, then Cormorant Bay is your friend. Be prepared to be blown away, dont fish light, dont let them turn their head. Seen guys poling tuna, or US bassers bringing them across the top. Thats the way you need to play. Might loose a few fish but if you dont do it that way then you will loose a lot of lures.

Sensible lad!

Leave dad on the bank and tell him you'll be back in an hour.
