Went for an explore this morning with my spin rod and a few lures. Got a few little bumps on a spinnerbait and a small diving minnow thinking they could have been Spanglies or even mullet (plenty evident). Alot of rock impediments to bass in this section but you only need to bushbash about a few hundred metres before you find near level water so should hold some. Nice scenery. Cheers PAT.

Pat there will be Bass in there, I caught my first Bass in those waters, downstream of where you show. Was only a dining room table size hole against a grass bank in a rock shelf area, but it held a 37cm bass :youbeauty
Cheers Brad

Cheers Brad I know they are in there as I've caught them down lower below the large rockface but I was curious as to how far down from the falls the fish could navigate upstream. I think I got to the last decent rapids but you just don't know until you've paddled it. If I get the chance I will head up this week as the water quality was pretty good. Cheers Pat.

I fished a few pools further down just after new year and caught 4 bass , 24cm , 27cm , 32cm and 35cm . got plenty of hits but i was only using surface lures , some real bassy pools

I had a fish up above the large rock face heading up stream but the surface weed and the weed below in places was so thick even a spinnerbait had trouble getting through. I got one spanglie and a half hearted hit from a small bass I saw come out from the end of a laydown just as I was about to lift it out of the water. Hoping this rain will clear some of the surface weed and I can chase the mullet population on light fly gear. Pat.

To add to this topic, below is some video from Wappa Falls which is just below the wall at Wappa Dam. If bass got this far upstream I doubt they would get much further...
