Clear Island Waters
« on: January 25, 2014, 06:25:44 PM »
Last minute decision and I'm going to hit CIW early tomorrow. Never been there before, got the info on where to launch.

Anyone got tips on where to look for the bass? Will troll around a bit at first to see what's happening.

Aiming to launch at the dog park around 5am. Will post a report :) Happy Australia Day for tomorrow.

Won't do a full report as I didn't land anything doh. Not too bad, was expecting the wind but not the rain. Had a lot of fun in a little protected corner trying to tempt what I think were tarpon into eating my surface lure. Tarpon was confirmed when one went a good 6 feet airborne trying to eat my lure but it missed. Few other boils, couple of other fellas got 2 bass. Nice place, will have to go again when the wind is down.

Yesterday I fished adjacent the Robina Parkway with some success, 2 middle sized Bass from a kayak. There was quite a lot of activity amongst the reeds.
Generally there is a fair bit about, West lake is productive  at  the moment. Good luck for tomorrow.
