Another mistake ?

Just got back from a fish today with a suprise catch of at banded or bard grunter at reynolds creek......

I have a photo but cant upload atm. I know they are at Hinze but not a clue about moogerah, can anyone shed any light on this.

If not would have travelled up the Bremer/Reynolds Ck. from Brisbane R.

Bushwacker Steve,
Barred Grunter have been in Somerset for years, so I guess they had to go through the system sometime or other. They originally came in with a stocking of Bass, apparently hard to tell the diff at fingerling stage 
The worst they will do is replicate a million fold but they could be a nuisance to the Spangled Perch as they seem to share the same attitude problems  .
I reckon the Bass and Yellows in the river will have a nice supplementary food source from them.

Bait killing mongrel things. Had a couple of shrimp come back up with no legs in north pine the last week or so, its got me worried.

Thanks Brad H, Have to agree with the "same attitude problems as spangled perch".
May be a good thing may not be but once they are there i cant imagine them going away.
They seem less spikier than spangles so may make a better munching opportunity .. maybe the bony bream will be effected too ?

Dave did a survey 4 weeks ago none turned up, plenty of this years Bass though very good growth rates

That they are, they don't seem to be an issue to those using lures however.

True Fitz, was my brother usuing bait caught it, only time i have come accross them was when a bloke i was fishing with jagged one while trolling.

true, but shrimp are much cheaper than my lures when taking the kids fishing

I got one on a Blade in the Brissy River last week.  They hit hard.  We were getting quite a few on Blades in Wivenhoe last year as well.
