Fisheries Queensland nominated for prestigious award

The Freshwater Fish & Habitats team in Fisheries Queensland has been nominated for the prestigious Chairman’s Award by Condamine Alliance. Fisheries Queensland has been working with Condamine Alliance on a number of projects that promote native fish population within the Dewfish Demonstration Reach, which is a 110 kilometre stretch of waterway in the Condamine catchment in southern Queensland. Some of the projects delivered within the Reach include weir upgrades, re-snagging, fencing, weed management, flood recovery work, pest fish removal, erosion control, and education and community awareness.

The winner will be announced on Friday 11 May 2012 at the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony
