Enoggera Reservoir opened to swimming, paddling and fishing
For the first time in the Reservoir’s history, swimming, paddling and fishing are now permitted on Enoggera Reservoir. Built in 1866, Enoggera Reservoir was the first major dam constructed in Queensland. The dam is situated adjacent to The Gap in Brisbane, and until now, has not seen any water based recreation permitted. As South East Queensland currently has good water security, we are able to use Enoggera Reservoir as a drought response dam only. As a result, water based recreation can be permitted while Enoggera Reservoir is not being used for drinking supply purposes.
In partnership with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), and as a result of Seqwater’s Recreation Review, swimming and paddling are now permitted on the Reservoir.
