Toray Super Power Finesse Braid 100% Polyethylene
« on: October 24, 2013, 07:19:37 AM »
I have a friend that is trying to offload some " Toray Super Power Finesse Braid 100% Polyethylene" onto me for really cheap. Is it worth taking??

Cheers,

Pete

He wants $20 for each 75m spool.  Does that sound alright?
I'm still in two minds as not sure if I want to go back to braid as well.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Toray is one of the thinnest diameter braids around and usually retails for around $50 for 100m. I'd say grab it, good stuff on a spin reel but not so good on a baitcaster.

Thanks guys. I might pick up a couple off him then if its a good deal.  Looks like I won't be needing any braid for a while!!

Cheers,

Pete

I second the not so good on baitcasters, being so thin, birds nests can cut the line itself lol
And 20 biccies is a bargain!

Yeah I think I will just throw it on the old TD Sol I have. Finally get some use out of it.

toray do make a braid suitable for baitcasters just not commonly stocked in shops.

Toray Sea Bass is $69 a spool but worth it

I'm sticking with Suffix 832 for my BC reels, very happy with it.

Toray do a bunch of great braids, my favourite for bc's is Super Strong. I use 20lb on most of my reels because of its diameter and castability. Around $50 a spool, it's not as cheap as some but I find it reasonable, each to their own.

My mate actually has close to 20 of these spools. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Steve, the other ones I've used are Radius and the SeaBass. Stay away from the radius for bc outfits, great for spin reels though.

Pete, thanks for the offer, I'm all good.
