The brown trout are spawning – come and see

Good rain and snow across the State over the last couple of weeks has resulted in the brown trout spawning run getting into full swing in most creeks on the Central Highlands and there have been thousands of moving up Liawenee Canal. The condition of the brown trout in the yangina/Great Lake spawning run is best seen for many years.

Trout Weekend 2016 is on this weekend. The weather forecast for both Saturday and Sunday looks great at Liawenee. Saturdays forecast is for light northerly winds, cloudy 12 degrees with similar conditions forecast for Sunday, 12 degrees and freshening northerly wind. These conditions will make it an ideal time to come and view the spawning brown trout.

There will be lots of other things to see and do at this free event. click here to find out more.
