G'day all,
Just back from the ABT round at Somerset! I personally found the fishing a little tough (I'm pretty hopeless though) but some good fish were caught!
Big Bass went 3.53kgs :OMG (Length unkown sorry) It was an absolute monster!! Not sure of the precise location it was taken from but needless to say that elusive 60cm model may still be residing within the lakes confines. There should be photos of the Bass up on Australian Bass website in the near future.
Thanks,
Colin

Well that is encouraging, Somerset had a spill just like Wivy. If there is Big bass to be caught in Somerset the same must be for Wivy. Someone just has to find them. Thanks for the info..

There were 127 fish weighed in, so it's a pretty good sign. Sorta proves some of the doom sayers wrong.

Here are the results, it certainly would have been a great fish to catch in or out of a comp. regardless.

Plenty of fish on the scales and the sounders! The big one was taken on an Ice Jig which seemed to be the go to lure of choice! There were a few taken on lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits from the edges, but the deep bite seemed to be the key.
No problems in my opinion with the lake, it will continue to be a great fishery for many years!!
Thanks
