Title: Moogerah Dam
Post by: bingarox on March 29, 2012, 04:45:46 PM
Hi guys,
I may be heading over to Moogerah Dam during the Easter weekend and was wondering if anyone has fished it lately. Personally, I've never actually fished it before so it's all a learning curve to me. If anyone could give any help at all it would be great.

There is some good fishing to be had there but the lake lice will be prolific during Easter, it would be the last place I would go fishing during Easter...

We loved camping and fishing at Moogerah a while ago - when the water skiers were banned due to the water level.  Now, they'd be ZOOMING around all over the place I reckon.

Yep, Moogerah is a noisy old place while the ski boats are out in force.

So I fished it nice and early last Tuesday morning :) Left the boat ramp at 6.30ish and headed out into the timber down the southern end of the lake.

No other boats were on the water , and the breeze was only light at best.

Caught a couple of these puppies.

Hundreds of metres from the nearest shoreline I spotted this.

I watched this Lace Monitor(Varanus varius) sniffing around the hollows where the Swallows were nesting.

Moogerah is a very pretty lake , well worth the effort during the middle of the week.
