Brisbane River today
« on: September 17, 2011, 05:17:41 PM »
After      you      guys     had     all     the     fun    last     week    I     decided     to     hit     Shines     Road    on     my    own    today.     Heart     Attack     hill     is     aptly     named.    Caught     11     Bass     with     only     two     over     40     cm.     End     report     need     rest     now.

Dale

I fish because the little voices in my head tell me to.

I will  ;D

And one that I got

Catfish Al , Little Catfish Al , Myself and Alison went for a quick down there this afternoon ( Sunday ). Just drifted downstream flicking amongst the shadows on the banks. We got a few good Bass aswell .

Also with the weather warming up , the usual reptiles are starting to become active. Saw this guy swimming near the bank . Its a Keelback or sometimes called a Freshwater Snake. IMO the most commonly encountered snake on or near the river . They are totally harmless and possess no venom glands , and are the only native Australian snake that can eat Cane Toads without dying  ( as long as the toad is small enough to fit in their gob ).

Cheers,
Dave.
