Old Town Australian Canoe & Kayak Cod Fishing Championships
« on: September 22, 2011, 07:26:52 PM »
G’Day all

Thanks to the idea and support of Gary (Fitz) Fitzgerald  :thanks from BLA, distributors of Old Town Canoes & Kayaks, it’s with great excitement I announce a new fishing event - the “Old Town Australian Canoe & Kayak Cod Fishing Championships”. The “Old Town ACKCFC” will be fished as an individual event with its own simple set of rules under the Cod Classic banner. This event will be open to all canoe and kayak based fishermen and take place on Lake Mulwala, Sat December 3rd.

A $10 nomination fee on top of the Cod Classic entry fee ($90) will see all participants in with a chance of taking home the title of “Australian Canoe & Kayak Cod Fishing Champion” along with some great prizes, trophy’s and bragging rights!

Upon entry, competitors will be issued with an official measuring device and ID token. All legal size Cod must be measured, photographed and released alive. At the conclusion of the days fishing, all photographed Cod captures will be verified by an organising official. Upon verification, an official Cod Classic catch card receipt will be issued for that fish to be entered into the Cod Classic itself. The person with the longest photographed Cod will be declared the ACKCFC winner. A complete set of rules and regulations will be issued upon registration.

For more information or an entry form feel free to give me a call on M 0439 441667 or shoot me an e-mail at codclassic@bigpond.com

Look forward to making this event a huge success.

Cheers
Tony Bennett

Happy to help out TB, the folks at BLA were happy to get involved, I just put 2 & 2 together.

I had a blast there last year and am looking forward to getting there again this year with Slates & co.

There's a fish over near Keffin's that took one of my lures back into it's snag pile & I'm coming back with revenge in mind.  :walkplank

Great news.
Love the simplicity of these photo and release comps. Way of the future I reckon.
Although I'd be keen to see a video of Fitzy trying to pull a 90lb cod on to his yak for a happy snap on the brag mat  :popcorn)

Well me and my Old Town will be there. As long as I don't have any more surprises in my family calendar, I have had enough of those for this year.
This WAS my year of horrible things and this year has ended NOW.

So great an idea and the cod are extra special so treat 'em right and they may just shred your thumb. A cod kiss if you like. :thumb

Cheers,
Pam

Pam

Love your passion and dedication. It's a fair hike for you but I'm sure you will be glad you made the effort afterwards. Look forward to meeting you.

Cheers TB
