If you are fishing with worms you are bound to catch talapia . Might even pick up a few eel tail catties(TANDANUS) i have eaten these before and are very nice. The catties like water at about 3mtrs I have found. NOTE not aloud to eat talapia and must dispose of them correctly. There are posts on here about that.

Thanks guys i am fishing from boat would be using lures and maybe try and take some shrimp. Would be aiming to catch bass or yellowbelly or even a cod but understand they are pretty rare. I do love nothing better than cod and yellowbelly fishing but living in  brisbane don't get much of chance. I have managed to catch plenty of bass down at Lake Morgeerah but have struggled to catch them at Maroon or Sommerset.

Im not sure what the fishing will be like after the recent rain. Not sure how dirty it would be. For me i'd be heading straight up to pelican point, drive around and locate some schools and either cast some blades and jackals. Maybe even a spinnerbait as if the water is dirty it might go better. If this didn work i'd troll that same area using deep diving lures. Also lately every time i've been to somerset there have been some big schools of bass hanging off the hump. The fish in the schools are generally smaller but fish wider for the bigger more active fish. If bait fishing i'd head up a gully to where they maybe some water flowing in or tie to a tree in the creek. thats just what i'd try. Hope ya go well. Let us know how ya go.

With the shrimp, just find a point early morning, set your self up in about 6m of water, drop the shrimp down till they hit the bottom, two winds up and hang on. If you get nothing in half an hour try a little deeper or shallower, or another point.
