Went out this arvo and found the fishing difficult.  Persevered and experimented though and eventually caught and released 3 bass and a fork tailed catty.  The biggest bass went 40cm with the other two hitting the 37cm mark.  Tried many different lures, but in the end it was a purple and black spinnerbait that did the trick.   :) The fish were caught late arvo/early evening.  Nice way to finish off my weekend!

Forkies are native and have every right to be there - killing them for nothing is ignorant BS

Jim, I think the forkie surviving comment was as a result of the recent fish kill in the river which seemed to affect only fork Tailed Catfish

Yeah, I was a bit surprised to see the catfish.  Looked very healthy too. He was about 45cm.  I know people bag them as a pest, but he was fun to catch, and I say treat them all with respect. To be honest he was a welcome catch at that stage, because I thought I was going home without catching a thing!   :)
