The trail network at Lake Wyaralong, including the Mt Joyce mountain bike park, has been temporarily closed.

Seqwater will advise as conditions change, and will advise when the trails are reopened. We will provide further updates via our website and through social media.

Lake Clarendon opens for paddling and fishing

Date:
    24/04/2015

Lake Clarendon is now open for paddling and fishing, as a result of community feedback during the recreation review. A walking trail has also been established for bird watching.

A gate has been installed to allow visitors to access the lake. The paddlecraft launch and retrieval access point is via the Lockyer Valley Regional Council picnic area (off Main Green Swamp Rd).

For anglers, fishing is permitted from your paddlecraft, as well as from the shoreline of the paddle craft launching area. The lake is not currently stocked with fish, and no fishing permit is required.

Please play it safe and exercise care when recreating on and around the lake - always wear your lifejacket when paddling, and respect the tranquility of the area by not disturbing the wildlife in their homes.
Remain vigilant and be aware of changing lake conditions

Date:
    16/04/2015

Your safety is important - please remain vigilant and play it safe when visiting any of our dams, lakes and parks.

The recent rainfall around South East Queensland may have changed the conditions of our lakes and recreation areas, and we are urging all users to remain vigilant and be aware of hazards when recreating at our lakes.

It's not just excessive rain that can cause conditions at our lakes to change. Periods of low rain or drought, or increased usage at our irrigation dams often result in a lower water level at some of our lakes, such as Lake Atkinson.

If you are the skipper of a vessel or boat, it is your responsibility to ensure that the conditions are suitable for your particular activity. Submerged hazards including debris and natural hazards may be present, so lake users are reminded to remain vigilant at all times. You can keep yourself and your passengers safe by:

checking the area you intend to use to determine whether it is safe for your activity
keeping a proper lookout when using towing apparatus
maintaining a safe speed suitable for the conditions
    wearing your life jacket.

Cheers
Ray
