Just wondering if anyone knows when Lake Ainsworth near Ballina was stocked with Bass and how many(if any) went in

No idea when or if it was stocked but there are Bass.

Definitly fish in there as I was catching them the other day and I can guarantee they are stocked fish. There is basically no natural size variation with all the fish in the 15-20cm or 25-30cm size range and quite a few showed the classic deformities of stocked bass.

Brett,
A friend of mine told me that Bass had appeared in there, his interest is small natives, there is a small population of Rhadinocentrus ornatus (Ornate Rainbowfish) in the lake.

A number 2 Celta looks like the go to lure as well. You could've shown us the blade colour mate. Nice fish, similar colour to the Clarrie Hall fish. Must be a NSW thing. I thought they'd have been blue though.

I love that darker colour those bass have in there and Clarrie. Ainsworth is stained brown isn't it. I think I went there years back and one kid called it Coke Lake :o

Coke lake sounds about right as it a very dark tannin lake. As for the celta being the lure(not really). They ate everything we threw at them exept for surface lures.

Past couple of sessions have produced with the Sammy 65, the biggest going 36cm TL
