Hi Guys,
Technically where does the Stanley river finish and Big W start? Do you need an impoundment licence to fish the Stanley river between Somerset & Big W?

Lake Wivenhoe backs up the Stanley & Brisbane Rivers. The waters right up to the base of Somerset Dam wall are part of Lake Wivenhoe, you need to have a Stocked Impoundment Permit to fish there.

Villeneuve bridge is the end of the SEQ water control on somerset. The dam is full enough at the moment that while you can get a kayak under it, but unless a small tinny, you would not get under it.
Less than a metre clearance.
They control from the there all the way to the bottom of the spillway below wivanhoe. I think someone told me the way the legislation is written that technically you need an SIP for the entire system above a SIP dam, but in this case you would be fairly safe to assume the requirement for one covers the area SEQ water control.

Lake Somerset extends way past the bridge, past the junction with Mary Smokes Creek. For want of a better landmark, Villenueve Bridge is often used, but the lake itself & Seqwater ownership & the requirement for a SIP extends well beyond the bridge.
This video starts several km upstream of the bridge & doesn't show all of the water. You can see there's alot of lake upstream of the bridge.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the info. I'll wait until I have my SIP sorted.
