Kayak seat
« on: October 18, 2010, 07:06:26 AM »
Rayke got a kayak seat made by Leigh a while back and as the weather is warming up and my kayak needs a bit of use I would like to try and get one of these seats if possible. Does Leigh still make the seats and does any have a contact number. I suffer badly from numb bum and cant get past one hour in my present seat, and I am trying to avoid having loose cushons in the yak.

Thanks Dino

Dino although you said you want to avid loose cushions in the yak if you put a minimal inflated ring under your existing seat you will be cured I reckon.

Tried everything suggested by people in a quest to beat the numb and burning bum in my early days on the yak, before seeing a vinyl inflatable seat [blue in picture] in a chemist shop, and immediately went from 2hours and discomfort, to an easy all day with no problems.

I eventually cut off the seat section from my kayak seat and only retained the back for support, and sit on the inflatable

Later on another forum saw the inner tube suggestion and have gone that way ever since because its smaller..and both only cost $12 at time of purchase.

Minimum inflation is the key or it feels unstable

Dino,

For the moment, I have put a hold on the kayak gear, as things were just getting too hectic. To be honest, I got a whole lot busier then I imagined I would with the kayak gear, so we have put them on hold until some further things are sorted out. If its just the one you want, we may be able to help you out though.

Give me a call on 0419020260 and we shall go from there.

Leigh.

Good quality bit of sheepskin, I'm talking real high end car seat cover stuff, prevents numb bum. Exy but worth it. I've only used it a couple of times but it works for me. Won't use in the salty stuff in case it got wrecked.
Cheers john.
