To subscribers of our Kedron Brook Catchment Branch - Wildlife Queensland Newsletter, The Kedron Brook Babbler

Hello again!

The attached version of our June Issue of the Kedron Brook Babbler is 548 KB in a standard resolution PDF file. If you have a problem downloading it or don't wish to
have these relatively big files sent to you please contact membership@kedronbrook.org.au for advice or so you can be taken off the list.

Kedron Brook Catchment Branch General Meeting and Network Meeting

Our next General and Network Meeting is on Tuesday, 19 June 2012 at our usual meeting place at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre, 815 Rode Road, McDowall.
Finger food and drink at 7 pm for meeting at 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm. Following our short Annual General Meeting, we'll have our regular General and Network meeting
followed by a special presentation.

Our speaker, Sarah Bell, will present her latest research on squirrel glider ecology from both mainland and island sites in South East Queensland. She will discuss the potential
applications of these findings to ensure the long term survival of mainland populations. Sarah is currently Environmental Education Officer at Boondall Wetlands and Downfall
Creek Environment Centres.

Catch up on how our Branch and network projects and activities are progressing and have your say on where we should be planning for our future. Watch our web site for
details of our special presentation. Contact our Secretary, Lennert on enquiries@kedronbrook.org.au about planning or progress of our projects and activities.

Queensland Rail supports Habitat Enhancement Project at Ferny Grove

Come along! Our final planting activity in this project is on Saturday 23 June, 2012, 9 am to 12.00 md at Bob Cassimaty Picnic Grounds (opposite BP Service Station on
Samford Road) at Ferny Grove (UBD Map 137 ref LI). Come and celebrate the completion of the plantings with morning tea and a FREE SAUSAGE SIZZLE. There
will be some final plants going in the ground as well as some general revegetation work to restore and protect the corridor for the wildlife.

Please meet at the location where we planted on Saturday 2 June. While you are heading along Samford Road towards the Great Western Shopping Centre, when just past Bob Cassimaty
Park's car park, cross the little bridge that goes over Cedar Creek/Kedron Brook and then turn sharp left into the driveway just before the railway crossing. You will see the Council vehicles
already down the end of the driveway. Base camp will be set up at this Stage 4 area.

For background information, see the Project web page that includes the above planting map for the various stages of the Cassimaty Park Project at Ferny Grove. Maintenance
activities are being programmed for this project to continue right through to January 2013.

For further details please ring our Acting Creek Ranger, Jacinta Hamilton, by email on jacinta.hamilton.brisbane.qld.gov.au or by phone on 0439 788 459 or Fran Gilje (MOTT)
